A highly efficient logistics operation set up and run in-house enabled Margaritelli Ferroviaria S.p.A. to complete delivery on schedule of over 250,000 sleepers along the line for the new French High Speed rail link between Nîmes – Montpellier. The sleepers were transported from Italy by rail to a temporary storage unit near Saint-Césaire, set up and equipped by Margaritelli Ferroviaria S.p.A. Consignments of sleepers were then reloaded as required and delivered along the line in step with the advancement of the track laying site. The new line will be open to rail traffic by the end of 2017.
