The commitment in favour of the Environment is continuously renewed by setting increasingly higher objectives to reach in different fields, from the full compliance with the environmental regulations to reducing the consumption of energy and natural resources, from the circular economy of wastes to the reduction of the direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions related to the company business processes. To increase the control and the effectiveness of its sustainability initiatives, in each site Margaritelli Ferroviaria operates with an Environmental Management System certified according to the standard ISO 14001.

Our difference
Since 2022, Margaritelli Ferroviaria has been actively investing in the protection and enhancement of the local forest heritage of the Umbrian territory financing the 2022-2032 forest management plan of the “Bosco di Piegaro (PG)”, also aimed at certifying its ecosystemic functions according to the PEFC standard. In 2023, the forest manager (Selvamar s.s.) with the support of Margaritelli Ferroviaria has obtained the certification of the following forest services:
- Carbon absorption, storage and non-emission
- Tourist/recreational functions
Thanks to the forest management project funded by Margaritelli Ferroviaria, in 2023 the additional Carbon Absorption from the atmosphere is equal to 1,400 tCO2eq, valid as sustainability credits according to the PEFC regulation.
